available, buying clothes, toys and furniture. A glider rocker is one furniture
that you need and you will definitely going to use it and sometimes you will actually be sleeping on it especially
on the few months after your baby is born.
There are a lot of glider recliners and rockers and have different features, styles and
colors that you need to pick that is perfect for you and will match the overall decor of your nursery room. Below
are the tip and guide when purchasing glider rockers and hopefully you will find it useful.
1. First, you need to sit on the glider and check to see if the movement is smooth. Not all glider rockers are
created equal even with the same brand and style. If you are testing the display model they have at the store, make
sure it glides smoothly, if not then don't even think of buying it.
2. Check to see if they put on the box the distance of the glide - glide length; the longer the glide length the
smoother and more comfortable the glider rocker will be.
3. When to glider rocks, it should not make any noises it should be quiet. There are a lot of gliders that will
begin to squeak that can be annoying. most of them can be fixed by putting some WD 40.
4. check out the rocker gliders that can be locked on different positions. If you don't want to rock yourself to
sleep, then you can lock it to a position that you are comfortable with. So, the more lock positions it has, the
more adjustable it is and you can definitely find a position or positions that you will like.
5. There are gliders that recline or can be locked at a reclined position, they are also called glider recliner
- check to see if your rocker has that option.
6. Check and feel the arm rests if they are comfortable. Padded arm rest will be the most comfortable especially
if you are lulling the baby to sleep and your arm plus the weight of the baby rests on the arm rests.
7. The cushions on the glider rocker needs to be removable so that you can wash and wipe it off if you have the
unavoidable spills and messes of the baby.
8. Make sure the glider cushion are comfortable. Remember, you will be sitting on this chair for a lot of hours
in a day. Check if the cushion is thick enough for prolonged sitting and not easily collapsible (firm).
Glider rockers and recliners have another unattached part on it which is called the glider
ottoman. This is the one that you put and rest your legs into and also facilitates the rocking motion when you are
sitting. Check to see if it glides smooth, the distance of the glide and any noises if there are any.
Lastly, check to see if both the rocker glider and the ottoman are made of stain proof or resistant material
because you definitely need it.
There are a lot of glider rockers out there, stick with a named brand and but
the middle range on the price. Not the cheapest one and not the most expensive one either.
